How to Fire Your Boss

How to fire your boss!

A question recently presented asks “What suggestion do you have for someone who is working full time (more then 40 Hours/week) for a corporation, makes good money, but wants to go full time in network marketing?”

What a great question to ask!

The quick, easy to remember, answer is do not quit your day job until your home-based network marketing business is at least producing as much as your day job three months in a row.

So now the question is, how do we get to that point while still working.  Our business requires a lot of activities to concentrate on. And unless you have a time machine, there is not enough time in the day to do all these activities.

  • Writing Ads
  • Placing Ads
  • Creating Capture pages
  • Calling leads
  • Interviewing leads
  • Contact management
  • Scheduling follow ups
  • 3-way calls with downline
  • Mailing information
  • Making follow up calls
  • Processing new orders and application
  • New Distributor training and orientation

When you look through this list again, ask yourself, which of these activities “makes the money?”

Did you figure it out?  The only thing on this list that actually makes you money is:

Processing new orders and applications.

Since this is the only activity that makes you money, it should be the activity you concentrate the most amount of time and energy on. You can learn how to get more out of your time by reading my article about work habits here.

Even with improved work habits it still may seem impossible to accomplish this. But imagine the results if during your 2 hours per day your were able to concentrate on customer orders and processing applications!  I bet your three month requirement would go by quite quickly.

In order to make this happen, three things must take place.

  1. You must build a pipeline of prospects whom you consistently contact over time. Not personally, but through marketing which allows you to leverage your efforts.
  2. You must build a relationship with those prospects, not personally, but through technology such as an auto-responder and video.
  3. You must effectively market your goods and services to those prospects, and then sales are made and income is produced.

All three of these activities must, and can be achieved on cruise control. If not your profits will not reflect your goals.

Shh! This is the secret between part time network marketers that generate gobs of income and those that work their behind off and achieve very little.

If the system is not on cruise control, then time is wasted calling the prospects and building relationships, unnecessary marketing materials are wasted on prospects who are wasting your time.

By putting together a lead generating campaign together to produce 10 to 20 new leads per day and putting those leads into your auto-responder pipeline the looky-loos can be weeded out without wasting your time.

In the end, the prospect has contacted the successful network marketer prior to any phone call or individual (non auto-responder) e-mail.

Now it is time to build the relationship with the new associate to help them achieve their dream lifestyle too.

The moral of the story is in order to fire your boss, and build an empire with your network marketing business, you must spend what time you have wisely and progressively. Stop spinning your wheels doing things that are not income producing.

Better Work Habits For Home Based Business Owners

Uncategorized 1 Comment

    * SPACE: Set up a space in your home that is dedicated to working. Preferably a place where you can close the door and claim complete uninterrupted privacy.

    * TO DO LIST: Start a to do list. This is very easy and you do not need any fancy program. If you are on a PC start a little program called ??? and if you are on a MAC, the program in called text edit.  These are the basic word processor programs all windows or mac computers come with.  Once the program is started, set out your goals. Since this is a to do list, I like to make these little tiny goals that can be accomplished in a fairly short period of time.  I like to do this exercise the night before, this way when I go to bed, tomorrows goals are in my thoughts and the subconscious can work on them while I sleep.  It really does work. Now when you get up, you have your list of things to complete, print it out and get to work.

    * TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF: I am still developing this, but what I do in the morning is to make sure I take care of myself. I take Maxwell (the dog) out for a good long walk to give us both some exercise. I eat a healthy breakfast. Brush my teeth and then I am ready to work. I find if I do not do this, then I get distracted very easily thinking about (walking the dog, eating something, my bad breath, etc…). Therefore getting this out of the way ahead of time, reduces the chance for distractions.

    * E-MAIL: Here is a big one…. How many of you leave your e-mail program running in the background?  I used to, and every time I would here the audible signal that a new e-mail has arrived, I would rush over and check it out. STOP THIS.  It is wasting your time.  Today, I check my e-mail, at most, 3 times a day. And one day a week, I make a longer period of time to take care of the messages that need more attention. When you are not dealing with your e-mail, quit the program, DO NOT LET IT RUN IN THE BACKGROUND! If you are worried about your co-workers not being able to get a hold of them, put an auto responder on your e-mail that bounces a note back informing them of your new system and that you will get back them at a designated time. No more excuses.

    * TIME MANAGEMENT:  All of us are different as to how much time we can spend each day on out Home Based business. Some it may only be an hour, some it may be 16 hours. So we need to make each one of these hours as progressive as possible. I suggest you get a kitchen timer of some sort. It is simple and inexpensive. Set it for 50 minutes, close the door, turn off the phone, turn off the e-mail (unless this is your project for the hour), essentially get rid of all possible distractions. This includes the children and pets too! Go to work for the 50 minutes and concentrate. When the 50 minutes is up, reset the timer for 10 minutes and get up. stretch, play with the kids, kiss the significant other, pet the dog, visit the bathroom, whatever…  RINSE…REPEAT…

    * PLUS MORE LATER….

If you can’t wait for more from me. Here are some great resources that I use everyday to keep myself in line.

Improve Yourself, Be a Winner

I share these thoughts from a recent e-mail I received from a mentor of mine, Mike Dillard from Magnetic Sponsoring

For most of us “winning” means we have achieved something we strive after. Whether it is a goal we set, or something in our subconscious.

There are at least 5 ways for you to “win”.

  • You win when you are comfortable. The primary goal here is to just go through life as comfortable as possible. No stress, no challenges, or no conflict. You just want to be on cruise control on the pursuit of comfort. This person will never be in charge, but more the dedicated employee who is happy with a safe and stable job.
  • You win by being liked. Your goal here is to be liked by everyone, and you will do just about anything to reach that goal. Place this person in a leadership role and the business is likely to fail, because tough decisions cannot be made, since it may mean they will not be liked.
  • You win by being right. This is the expert in a specific field. Criticism is not accepted and their mind is closed to new and fresh ideas. Being wrong is not acceptable, to the point of sabotage if necessary.
  • You win by winningThis is the achiever! Their motivation is to win. Competitiveness and gaining the leading edge push this person. This person does not care if others do not like them. Discomfort provides them with new opportunities to succeed and win. Robert Kiyosaki is a perfect example of this kind of person.
  • You win by losingThis person is always the victom. ALways with the feeling of PMS (Poor Me Syndrome). Statements like “I knew it wouldn’t work” are common for this person. Therfore gaining a win when they stopped trying and it did not work.

After reading this I looked in the mirror to find a little of each of these characters in myself.  I know I  made a concious decision that day to be 95% winner and 5% the rest on those really bad days we all have.

If you set your expectations so high that you can not achieve them, you will spend the rest of your life dissappointed and bummed out. Set realistic expectations!

The greatness of all this is once we have a win, the process starts all over again. So right now, it is time to set a small goal that is achievable and set out to win by achieving that goal no matter what it takes.

Now, go out there and be a winning winner for yourself and those around you. Only you can make your dreams come true!

Improve Your Internet Based Network Marketing Business

If you are reading this blog, it is a pretty good bet, you are tired of the work force and have started your own home based business by becoming an associate in a network marketing company.

Well you are not alone, according to a recent Harris Poll, 72% of American households are thinking about starting a home based business.

These days, there are a lot of empty promises out there with a “get rich quick” theme. I am here to tell you, unless it is against the law, or you win the lottery, getting rich is not an overnight happening. Even the success stories like you saw on the video to get you to join your network marketing company took time to get there.

I was recently at a national convention in Oklahoma for my MLM company and saw many million dollar earners go accross the stage. They all said their name and when they had started. Not one of them had been with the company for less than 7 years. This frightened me!

I spoke with a few of these people, and they all say it takes time and hard work to get there.

What I did realize is none of them had harnessed the power of the internet to get there!

Ok this is your big break, today you have the internet. And, if harnessed properly can be the leverage we need to build our business much more quickly and effeciently.

I have spent the last 10 months and over $20,000 dollars on educating myself on how to Put the NET into my NETwork Marketing Business.

This blog, or my other blog,  , and The Killer MLM Profits system are all based on the information from many gurus and mentors.

Some of the most valuable information I have gotten is from Mike Dilard and his Magnetic Sponsoring course.

Some of us do not have a lot of money to spend and Mike has answered this with a simple course called Building On A Budget.

These programs are a great way to start improving your business. I highly recommend you check them out and sign up for the free videos he offers.

Thank you for reading this far and my best wishes for your success in the very near future.
